In 2007, Nydia began the tradition of mentoring in the “old style” method of mentoring the yoga teachers who helped her when she opened the first Nydia’s Yoga Therapy studio on Lockhill Selma Road in San Antonio.  She mentored and helped train a few select individuals that were interested in the specialized form of Therapeutic Yoga that Nydia developed over the last 40 years.

Two of these individuals are in their own well established medical practices, Dr. Simone Norris at Integrative Family Medicine of San Antonio and Dr. Regina Lee at Family Health of South Texas.

One of these individuals, Dr. Sarah Eads is a Physical Therapist who has now opened her own private physical therapy practice that also offers yoga and wellness classes to the public.  Another one of these individuals is Sandra Weiss, who is a specialized yoga teacher and Super Woman who runs her own yoga studio, Yoga for Me in San AntonioTwo other yoga teachers who have had extensive training with Nydia are Dr. Terri Boggess, who is part of the Yoga Research team at NYT.  Ernest Martinez is another amazing teacher that has excelled in the therapeutic yoga method instruction at Nydia’s Yoga Therapy Studio.

Nydia continues the tradition of working one on one to help expand the knowledge of a few select individuals that become members of the NYT Serenidad Yoga Angel Network.
